Our school has a long history, and it has served the Morecambe Community for over one hundred years!
The main building was built in 1902, originally Euston Road School which was built after a competition held amongst local architects. The winning designer was John B Newton of Newton and Lawson on Victoria Street, the school was built to educate over 1000 pupils from infants and juniors to senior boys and girls. You will still see the stones marking the different entrances around the school building.
Euston Road school ran for around 70 years until its closure in 1973. It was replaced with the school as we know it today, Morecambe Bay Community Primary School. Additions and alterations over the years have made the building an interesting mixture of old and new. One of Euston Road’s most notable former pupils was Eric Morecambe, you will see little nods to him while moving around the school.
In 2012, the building underwent significant refurbishment which included the addition of new teaching spaces, a drama studio, immersive suite and teaching kitchen.
